No. EPA qualifies paint only as a roof coating in our Roofs program. Learn more about the ENERGY STAR Roof program.
At this time, there is no agreement on testing standards for paint or coating products regarding their energy saving performance or durability for use on walls. In addition, the limitations of the products have not been fully studied. Therefore, ENERGY STAR has not established a specification for wall paints or coatings.
If a manufacturer uses their status as an ENERGY STAR Roofs Partner to imply that EPA or DOE recommend wall paint or coating products, please report this to us at email@example.com.
