The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s intention is to test the electrical and photometric characteristics of these luminaires with lamps already on-hand at EPA-recognized laboratories, or those lamps that can be easily procured, as follows: test lamps shall be the lamp types indicated on the luminaire's packaging (per 'Product Labeling & Packaging Requirements' in the Luminaires specification) and must be compliant with ANSI/ANSLG C78.81-2010 data sheets (for T8) or IEC 60081 data sheets (for T5). The test lamp shall be the highest correlated color temperature (CCT) noted on the luminaire's packaging. The CCT of the test lamps may be established by lamp markings or related lamp manufacturer literature. The language "that meets the ENERGY STAR specification requirements" noted in the Supplemental Testing Guidance on pages 9, 11, and 13 of the Luminaires specification may be disregarded.
