May EPA-recognized laboratories revise existing test reports to reflect the partner name and model number of a rebranded or privately labeled product? Follow

No, all test reports and test articles generated for the purposes of ENERGY STAR certification shall reflect the model information (partner name and model number) of the original tested model and cannot be revised or changed to cite a different model number. It is important that EPA and certification bodies be able to trace all certified products to its tested model. Rebranded products may still make use of laboratory reports that do not include the rebranded model information for purposes of certification, so long as the partner can demonstrate to the certification body through separate documentation that the products are identical other than model number.
