Is there a tax credit for Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)? Follow

No, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are not covered by the tax credits because they do not meet the requirement of being "specifically and primarily designed to reduce heat loss or gain." SIPs are prefabricated building panels of foam plastic insulation between two structural boards.

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are most commonly used for new home construction, and this tax credit does not apply to new home construction anyway.
