Are partners required to re-test televisions to Version 6.1 with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Televisions Final Rule (DOE Final Rule) if the televisions are currently certified to Version 6.0 with the U.S. Department of Energy Notice of Proposed Ru Follow

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is not requiring that Version 6.0 certified televisions be re-tested and re-certified to the Version 6.1 specification. The Version 6.0 ENERGY STAR certifications will remain effective and appear on the ENERGY STAR Certified Products List. It is the partner’s responsibility to ensure representations of their products are in accordance with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Televisions Final Rule (DOE Final Rule) per DOE and U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) after April 23, 2014. For more information on these requirements, please visit DOE's Rulemaking for Televisions Test Procedure. Partners may need to coordinate with EPA-recognized certification bodies (CBs) to re-test certain models and/or update reported model data that appears on the ENERGY STAR Certified Products List.
