How should EPA-recognized certification bodies (CBs) report information about product availability if the product is intended for sale in the U.S. or Canada, but the date of availability to consumers is unknown? Follow

EPA-recognized certification bodies (CBs) should include a date four years in advance for product availability if not known and flag that it is not currently available. Once the product is available, CBs may submit a modification to EPA to reflect the new date available so that the product appears on the list of ENERGY STAR certified products and is eligible for verification testing. When a product will be unavailable for an unspecified period of time, the date available should be reverted to the future date or the date when it will be available.
