Under what circumstances may a brand owner partner indicate to EPA in the product certification submitted by the certification body that the certified model(s) is/are currently available? Follow

Any model submitted as "currently available" must be available for purchase in the U.S. and compliant with ENERGY STAR specifications.  When a certified model number is identical to a model number associated with a product that is not compliant with ENERGY STAR specifications, the model number may not be submitted/designated as "currently available" until units meeting the specifications are available for purchase in the U.S.  Only currently available, compliant models are listed on the ENERGY STAR website.  Models may be certified prior to being available in order to facilitate business-to-business transactions but they may not be listed as currently available.  In that instance, a model's certification body (CB) certificate can be used to demonstrate that it meets ENERGY STAR requirements.
